Summer Ice Skating

A family in our church that we did a LOT of stuff with is Birrd's family.  They moved here about 2 weeks after we did - they came from the Oregon coast, and have children with similar ages.  Birrd's cousin always wanted to be an ice skater as she was growing up, but they never had the money for her to take lessons.  So now that she IS grown up, she is taking ice skating lessons.  Remember that.  We participated in the library's Summer Reading Program, and they gave the kids a bag full of coupons for a prize.  One of the coupons was for free ice skating.  We (the Birrd and myself) thought it would be a lot of fun to get the kids together, with her cousin who actually knows how to ice skate (see, that information WAS necessary!) and take the kids ice skating.  Birrd has a baby that she didn't really want to take, and I didn't think O was old enough to enjoy it, so I stayed home and my hubby took the kids ice skating!  This was in August, so I think it actually felt good to go in such a cool building!
